Welcome to the Ukrainian Sound Garden, an interdisciplinary one-day Open Air Festival highlighting modern Ukrainian sound and vision. For the 4th time, the Vitsche Culture presents a unique constellation of talented musicians and artists, introducing their fresh projects in the spotlight of Berlin’s club scene. On Friday, the 14th of July, we invite you to Else to experience the 12h+ long summer edition program with Live music, a Pop-up market, Ukrainian food, and Club night!
DAYTIME. 5PM. Young instrumental Ukrainian musicians will take over the outdoor live stage with their unique sound blend of nu-jazz, breakbeat, pop, funk, and electronic music. You’ll have an opportunity to deep-dive into the sound that is currently shaping the vibrant contemporary music scene in Ukraine and listen to exclusive unreleased material.
At the Pop-Up Market, we will present Ukrainian books, DIY prints, and artistic installations that reflect on the subject of cultural integrity in times of war. We will have special corners for delicious Ukrainian food, tea ceremony, and tattoos starting at 5 PM.
In this edition of Ukrainian Sound Garden, we aim to raise awareness about the ecological catastrophe triggered by the russian invasion and collect 7,000 Euros to mitigate the humanitarian consequences resulting from the Kakhovka Dam explosion. We will collaborate with Berlin to Borders NGO and local volunteers to ensure that the aid reaches the areas in need.
CLUB NIGHT. The night stage will be curated by Bass Resistance – a network of Ukrainian and international artists gathered for charity and awareness purposes. In their debut showcase, we will explore the powerful fusion of electro, breaks, and bass music by talented Ukrainian DJs and exciting special guests in the B2B-centred format:
Passionfruit B2B Travis
Habitat Shaking B2B Cromby
human margareeta B2B Camilla Rae
Adelina B2B SVZZ
We are looking forward to shaping a special atmosphere of togetherness and celebrate the indomitable human spirit. We invite every Berliner to join us at Else on Friday, support our fundraising goal, and experience the vibrant vibe of modern Ukrainian culture. The event takes place as part of the Kultursommer Festival Berlin 2023.
Free admission. Donations are highly appreciated
